Beckhoff Automation GmbH of Verl, Germany, generated global sales of 435 million euros ($575 million) in 2013, an increase of 7 percent.
The company reports a significant increase in export sales, and expanded domestic sales network and production capacity in Germany.
Beckhoff is expanding its Verl headquarters plant this year by 64,580 square feet. The company’s drive technology site in Marktheidenfeld, Germany was expanded by 21,500 square feet in 2013, when the company bought a new building.
Beckhoff employed 2,510 people in 2013, up 14 percent. Officials expect double-digit sales growth in 2014.
“2013 was a good year for us as we recorded growth above that of the market,” said Managing Director Hans Beckhoff. “Following rapid growth in sales totaling nearly 100 percent in a two-year period from 2010 to 2011 and a downturn of 12 percent in 2012, we have now returned to a solid growth course of 7 percent,” he said.
Exports account for 58 percent of sales. Of that, 28 percent came from Europe (outside of Germany), 19 percent came from Asia and North American generated 10 percent.
